Daily Prompt: Hear No Evil
Hear No Evil

“Please don’t tell anyone”, she begged.
Her voice dripped with desperation and I knew I would be haunted by her secret for a long, long time.
Was it a true confession or emotional blackmail? With every move she made there was a hidden agenda. Her twisted mind never played it straight.
She knew I was in the next room, she knew the walls were thin and that the door was ajar.
She knew that we all stood to lose in equally disastrous ways should this ever come out.
She held us in a tight vice of secrecy with one single sentence.
It was going to be a long Christmas day.
